The Digital Marketplace is an online service where public sector organisations can find people and technology for digital projects.
Any public sector organisation, including agencies and arm’s length bodies, can buy services via the Digital Marketplace. However, suppliers cannot just sell their services in the Digital Marketplace. They must apply in order to do so, and as of Wednesday 20th January, Atlas has been accepted onto the Digital Marketplace as a supplier. What a start to 2021!
What Services are Sold on the Digital Marketplace?
Suppliers on the Digital Marketplace can sell cloud-based and/or digital specialist services.
Cloud-based services include:
- Cloud hosting. i.e. content delivery networks or load balancing services.
- Cloud software. i.e. accounting tools or customer service management software.
- Cloud support. i.e. migration services or ongoing support.
Digital specialist services include:
- Digital outcomes. i.e. a team to provide a booking system beta or an accessibility audit.
- Digital specialists. i.e. an individual developer or user researcher to work on a specific project.
- User research studios.
- User research participants.
These service types are provided on a ‘framework’, with each framework only open for applications at certain times.
Guidance, including how to buy services through the Digital Marketplace, can be found on the gov.uk website.
We are Cyber Essentials Plus & ISO 27001 Accredited
Feeling confident in your software and supplier is half the battle when it comes to implementing and maintaining systems in your organisation, which is why we take data security and privacy extremely seriously, here at Atlas.
Our customers trust us with their data and so in return, it’s fair and right that we take necessary precautions to protect their data in every way possible.
We are thrilled to be both Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001 accredited to ensure that we maintain a strong and reliable foundation of security awareness, allowing our existing and future clients to put their faith and trust into us.
What is Cyber Essentials Plus?
Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-backed scheme that is designed to help organisations of any size protect themselves against a range of the most common cyber-attacks.
The Cyber Essentials certification defines a focused set of controls which provide clear guidance on basic cyber security for organisations of all sizes and offers a foundation of cyber security measures that all types of organisations can implement at a low cost.
Cyber Essentials Plus is the highest level of certification offered under the Cyber Essentials scheme. It is a more rigorous test of an organisation’s cyber security systems where a cyber security expert carries out vulnerability tests to make sure that the organisation is protected against basic hacking and phishing attacks.
What is ISO 27001?
ISO 27001 sets the framework for an effective Information Security Management System (ISMS). It sets out the policies and procedures needed to protect organisations and includes all the risk controls necessary for robust IT security management.
The ISO 27001 certification ensures that adequate security controls are in place to protect information and data from being accessed, corrupted, lost or stolen and it allows companies to demonstrate compliance with internationally recognised standards of information security.
While ISO 27001 isn’t a legal requirement, businesses who frequently process and store data are advised to obtain the certification to protect against information security risks.
We are very proud to be able to share the news of our recent acceptance to the Government Digital Marketplace and look forward to continue working with our existing customers (and future) to provide the best possible service with the knowledge that your information and data is as safe as it can be.
